Within our Production Operations APEX (Achieving Performance Excellence) office, we're leading the charge in driving transformational change across all our sites and product centers using Lean, Six Sigma, and business process management tools.

THE WORK

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer in the Production Operations APEX office, you'll be a key catalyst for change, partnering with teams across Operations to identify and implement impactful business improvements. Your role will include:

Leading and supporting continuous improvement projects across all areas of Operations

Applying Lean, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering techniques to reduce waste and enhance processes

Serving as a business partner to Performance Management Teams (PMTs), guiding them in problem solving, conflict resolution, and alignment with key performance goals

Defining project scopes, measuring ROI, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and tracking key metrics

Motivating and influencing cross-functional teams to drive a culture of excellence

Supporting communication and change management strategies to ensure project success and long-term sustainability

Participating in and sometimes leading special initiatives that require a strong foundation in project management and continuous improvement methodologies

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a
related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined
education, with 4-6 years of professional experience; or
2-4 years experience required with a related Masters degree.
Considered experienced, but still a learner.

-Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Green Belt Trained (or
Certified) or equivalent knowledge of LSS tool

-Must have a strong understanding of continuous
improvement tools and techniques

- Experience leading lean events or using lean six
sigma tools (Kaizen, process mapping, etc)

-Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or
production environment

Desired skills

- Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Performance
Management Team or Operational Excellence
Team Process

- Ability to drive results and be action oriented in
a change environment

- Strong listening, verbal, and written
communication skills - able to communicate with
all levels of the organization

-Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments
with changing circumstances

-Experience with mentorship or coaching to
positively influence team dynamics

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $109,200 - $189,290. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
