About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Data Analyst to join our team in Jersey City, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, business requirements gathering, and a solid understanding of the financial services industry, specifically in wholesale lending, capital markets, or finance/risk reporting.
You will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions by analyzing data requirements, tracing data lineage, and ensuring quality data delivery that aligns with business and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business and data requirements to identify relevant data sources for consolidation and distribution.
- Gather, document, and validate functional and business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Create and maintain process flow diagrams, business models, and functional specifications.
- Review logical and conceptual data models to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Support data lineage and tracing initiatives to enhance data transparency and traceability.
- Work closely with technology teams to ensure accurate delivery of data solutions.
- Provide support during production deployment and investigate any data quality or completeness issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bridge data accuracy and integrity gaps.
- Validate implemented solutions to confirm they meet both functional and business requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Subject matter expertise in wholesale loans/lending, capital markets, finance, or risk reporting.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and working with relational databases.
- Excellent analytical and documentation skills, including the ability to produce business models, data flows, and functional design documents.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in data tracing, data lineage efforts, and data quality investigation.
- Solid understanding of logical and physical data models.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at various levels.
