Desktop Support Technician

Intermediate Level | On-Site | Full-Time

Position Overview

The Desktop Support Technician provides hands-on technical support to end users both remotely and in person. This role involves troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance of desktop hardware, software, and basic network components. Strong customer service skills are essential, as the technician will work directly with users across multiple locations. The position may require local travel, lifting equipment, and working in physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Install, configure, and repair desktop systems and applications.
  • Support users with account access, system setup, and general technical questions.
  • Perform imaging, deployment, and routine maintenance of devices.
  • Document work performed in a ticketing system and follow established support procedures.
  • Maintain strong communication with end users to ensure a positive support experience.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with supported teams and departments.
  • Lift and transport equipment as needed and work in non-standard physical positions when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of hands-on desktop support experience.
  • Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair in a desktop environment.
  • Basic understanding of network connectivity and troubleshooting.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting multiple operating systems.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of common productivity applications and email platforms.
  • Experience with imaging, deployment, and hardware repair.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

This is a Contract position based out of London, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
