Position: Insurance Business Analyst Guidewire PolicyCenter (Auto, GL, Workers Compensation)
Location: Schaumburg, Illinois
Duration: 12+ Months
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Insurance Business Analyst with deep expertise in Commercial Insurance, particularly in Auto, General Liability (GL), and Workers Compensation lines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter, and a strong ability to translate complex underwriting and policy administration needs into clear business and functional requirements.
You will play a key role in designing, documenting, and supporting PolicyCenter implementations or enhancements across the full policy lifecycle from new business to renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with business stakeholders, underwriters, and IT teams to gather and document requirements for Auto, GL, and Workers Comp lines of business.
- Create user stories, process flows, business rules, and data mappings aligned with Guidewire PolicyCenter functionality.
- Define and support configurations for coverages, modifiers, pricing, workflows, and product rules.
- Collaborate with configuration and QA teams to ensure delivery aligns with business expectations.
- Support testing activities including UAT planning, test case development, and defect triage.
- Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and system demos in Agile environments.
- Provide expertise on bureau updates, compliance rules, and ISO/NCCI guidelines where applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the commercial insurance domain.
- 3+ years of experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter (v9 or above).
- In-depth knowledge of Auto, General Liability, and Workers Compensation insurance products.
- Strong understanding of policy lifecycle transactions (new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models using tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Guidewire integrations, digital portals, and rating engine configuration.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to Auto, GL, and Workers Comp.
- Knowledge of ISO, NCCI, or state-specific rules.
- Experience with data analysis, reporting, or legacy-to-Guidewire transformation projects.
