ServicePoint in conjunction with a services partner has a government customer seeking a Technical Architect for a 12-18 month 100% onsite position located in Santa Ana California. This is a Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM position.

Architecture and Strategic Planning Duties

Lead the technical architecture of a secure, resilient, and scalable hybrid environment (Azure, Amazon Web Services ( AWS ), and on-premises).

Define integration strategies for legacy systems and cloud-based workloads.

Develop infrastructure standards, policies, and lifecycle strategies to guide modernization.

Infrastructure Operations and Subject Matter Expert ( SME ) Duties

Serve as the lead technical expert (Level 4) for infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and cloud services.

Work on-site to provide hands-on leadership in system implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization.

Provide after-hours support and overtime as needed during critical cutovers, incidents, or emergency responses.

Act as a SME and technical mentor to Information Technology ( IT ) staff, supporting internal knowledge transfer and skill-building.

Mentor IT staff on Microsoft 365, Intune, Azure Backup, and Endpoint Manager operations.

Security and Compliance Duties

Design secure architectures compliant with Criminal Justice Information Services ( CJIS ), National Institute of Standards and Technology ( NIST ), and state/local law enforcement standards.

Oversee identity architecture (Active Directory, Azure Active Directory ( AD ), Entra ID, Amazon Web Services Identify and Access Management ( AWS IAD ), Multi-factor Authentication ( MFA ), Role-based Access Control ( RBAC )).

Oversee the Public Key Infrastructure ( PKI ) infrastructure, ensure encryption, access control, auditability, and secure connectivity across environments.

Cloud Integration and Migration Duties

Guide the phased migration of infrastructure workloads and services to cloud platforms.

Architect hybrid networking (Virtual Private Network ( VPN ), Software-Defined Wide Area Network ( SD-WAN ), ExpressRoute, Direct Connect) and ensure connectivity with public safety systems.

Utilize Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, PowerShell, CloudFormation) to automate deployments.

Documentation, Training and Support Duties

Maintain detailed and current documentation: diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures ( SOP ), runbooks, security plans, and recovery procedures.

Conduct technical knowledge transfer sessions and provide formal and informal training to department staff.

Create and maintain compliance documentation for internal and third-party audits

Key Technologies Senior Technical Architect

Cloud Platforms: Azure (VMs, ExpressRoute, Azure AD, Entra ID, Backup), AWS (EC2, VPC, Direct Connect, IAM)

On-Prem & Hybrid Infrastructure: Servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), legacy system integration

Networking & Connectivity: VPNs, SD-WAN, secure routing, firewall configurations, hybrid connectivity with public safety systems

Security & Identity: Active Directory, Azure AD, Entra ID, AWS IAM, MFA, RBAC, PKI management, encryption

Automation & Deployment: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, PowerShell, CloudFormation)

Endpoint & Systems Management: Microsoft 365, Intune, Endpoint Manager, Azure Backup

Documentation & Collaboration: SOPs, runbooks, security plans, recovery procedures

Qualifications:

7+ years professional experience working in the IT field

IT infrastructure experience, with hands-on expertise in Azure, AWS, and on-premises systems.

Strong communication and documentation skills for presenting complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to collaborate across IT, public safety, and operations teams in a fast-paced government environment.
