Who we are
About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies-from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups-use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team

The onboarding and compliance team is the front door to the internet economy. We build and maintain the infrastructure that helps our users access all of Stripe's financial products. Our team runs all the necessary compliance checks and helps users stay abreast of constantly changing regulatory and legal requirements.
What you'll do

Responsibilities
  • Help define the strategy, and build for the next version of our compliance plans engine
  • Work with Stripe leaders across the company to create and drive toward the vision of Stripe's Risk platform.
  • Drive the roadmap and priorities for your team, and work with dependencies across the company.
  • Support the engineering team in achieving a high level of technical excellence and stability.
  • Manage processes to help the team do its best work and interface effectively with the rest of Stripe
  • Recruit and Develop engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers.
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe's engineering management team.
Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience with minimum 15 years of experience with software development.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, including minimum 5 years of Manager of Manager experience.
  • Built diverse teams to tackle challenging technical problems.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
Preferred qualifications
  • Successfully shipped and operated critical infrastructure.
  • Thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Be curious. You enjoy learning and diving into the nuts-and-bolts of how things work - in this role, you'll learn a ton about global money movement rails, currency conversion, inter-company flows, finance and accounting and more.
  • Be humble. It's important to continue to learn and grow as an individual, engineer, and leader.

Hybrid work at Stripe
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
