RN Consultant Digital Health & EHR Optimization

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (BA) with a solid clinical background (RN, NP, MD, etc.) and hands-on experience in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management (PM) systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in defining, analyzing, and documenting requirements for the development of a next-generation EHR-PM solution, ensuring it meets both clinical and operational needs. This role acts as the bridge between clinical stakeholders, product teams, and developers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and prioritize business and clinical requirements.
• Leverage clinical experience to evaluate current workflows and identify improvements in EHR-PM integration.
• Lead discovery sessions with clinicians, practice managers, billing teams, and IT stakeholders.
• Translate clinical workflows into business and functional requirements for development teams.
• Conduct gap analysis between current EHR-PM systems and desired functionality.
• Assist with wireframes, user stories, acceptance criteria, and use case documentation.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure clinical usability.
• Participate in system configuration, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Provide insights during sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Stay current on regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, ONC) and ensure system compliance.
• Support change management and training by helping to develop clinical-facing documentation.

Qualifications:

• Clinical experience required: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician (MD/DO), or similar background.
• 3 5+ years of experience working with EHR and Practice Management systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen).
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Clinical Informaticist in healthcare IT.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient intake, scheduling, documentation, coding, and billing processes.
• Familiarity with healthcare standards and compliance (HL7, FHIR, HIPAA, CMS guidelines).
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office, Visio, and wireframing tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in leading EHR/PM implementation or redesign projects.
• Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) or Agile/Scrum (CSM, SAFe Agilist).
• Background in Clinical Informatics or Healthcare IT Consulting.
• Experience working in multi-specialty practices or ambulatory settings.
