Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Ignition SCADA L1/L2 Support Engineer with 3 5 years of experience in Ignition SCADA/MES implementations. This role focuses on providing both frontline (L1) and advanced (L2) technical support for the Ignition SCADA system, ensuring optimal system performance and user satisfaction.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Ignition SCADA/MES Expertise: Modules like Perspective, Vision Unlimited, SQL Bridge, Tag Historian, Alarm Notification, Reporting.
- Technical Skills: SQL Server, Python scripting, Java, OPC server integration (e.g., Kepware), MQTT modules.
- PLC Integration: Experience with various PLCs and shop floor data capture.
- Architecture Knowledge: Ignition architecture design, EON configuration.
- Documentation: Ability to create design documents, test plans, and user manuals.
- Soft Skills: Strong troubleshooting, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
- Experience: Prior technical support experience in industrial automation environments.
Key Responsibilities:
L1 Support Frontline Assistance
- Serve as the first point of contact for SCADA-related issues.
- Troubleshoot recurring problems and coordinate resolutions.
- Communicate issue status clearly to users.
- Escalate unresolved issues to L2 or specialized teams.
L2 Support Advanced Troubleshooting
- Perform in-depth analysis of system malfunctions.
- Analyze logs and system data to identify root causes.
- Collaborate with developers and technical leads for resolution.
- Contribute to bug fixes and system enhancements.
Testing & Validation
- Develop and execute test cases for system functionality.
- Document test results and verify bug fixes.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Create and maintain support documentation, guides, and training materials.
- Work closely with developers, system admins, and Inductive Automation support for critical issue resolution.
- Track and document all support issues with detailed root cause analysis (RCA).
