As a System of Systems Engineer Senior, you will:

Integrate and work collaboratively with the FBM MBE Core Team and associated Communities of Practice to demonstrate the adoption of modern industry standards and emerging technologies

Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems--analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal

Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints

Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

Research and identify digital capabilities available and developing at the Enterprise and commercial levels for utilization as opportunities on the support equipment organization

Participate with DX stakeholders across FBM and Customer to deploy capabilities in time to benefit support equipment projects

Help establish enterprise-level architectures and CONOPS to meet mission requirements, perform top-level design and decomposition into requirements

Point of contact for the coordination, integration, and status of Electrical Support Equipment (ESE) development and modification and Mechanical and Fleet problem investigations
Support project planning meetings and prioritization efforts
Perform requirements development, risk assessment and lead requirement/design reviews
Support project performance reviews
Lead and/or support Technical Interchange Meetings and provide integration between projects
Coordinate systems engineering efforts with Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT)
Coordinate and lead SE development and alteration proposals
Support hardware testing/proofing exercises
Investigate SE concerns at Strategic Weapon Facilities (SWF)
Review failure history of SE to identify trends/issues, coordinate issues with associate contractors and lead corrective action activities

Typically has 5+ years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications

Knowledge and application of Systems Engineering processes and one or more Systems Integration functions including:
a) System trade studies and/or System modeling
b) System Integration, Test and/or Verification
c) Test planning and execution with an understanding of all the interdependencies
d) Design reviews

Systems Engineering experience related to electrical design or operations/procedure development.

Problem investigation and analysis experience.

Experience coordinating with multiple engineering functions (eg Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Flight Sciences, Materials, Manufacturing, Test, etc.)

Active Top Secret security clearance

Desired skills

Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) experience.

Knowledge of Trident II (D5) missile systems and processing requirements.

Knowledge of missile/component handling/transportation/assembly/test/loading operations and associated support equipment (SE).

Demonstrated responsibility as task lead.

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
