RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Seattle, WA that is looking for 2 Senior Systems Engineers for fully onsite roles.
Summary:
The Company Utility Computing team is seeking 2 Senior Systems Engineers to support the buildout of cloud-native monitoring and automation tools. These engineers will play a critical role in building cloud-based apps and analytics solutions leveraging core AWS services. This is an opportunity to contribute to high-impact automation projects alongside a team of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and deploy automation solutions using Company native services (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Redshift, etc.)
* Write production-ready Python code to support monitoring, analytics, and workflow automation
* Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize code within sprint cycles (2-week sprints)
* Collaborate with internal utilities and engineering teams to integrate cloud appliances across multiple Company environments
* Execute assigned engineering tasks independently, ensuring high-quality delivery without heavy oversight
* Participate in project onboarding, code reviews, and live problem-solving sessions
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of software engineering or systems engineering experience
* Strong hands-on expertise with Company services (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Redshift)
* Advanced Python development skills for automation and analytics
* Strong debugging, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
* Proven ability to deliver high-quality code with minimal oversight
* Ability to take ownership of project deliverables and think beyond assigned tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in large-scale distributed environments
* Prior exposure to Company hardware/software interface projects
* Strong problem-solving mindset demonstrated in live coding/problem-solving scenarios
* Ability to handle cross-team coordination challenges across multiple utilities
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
