Job Details

Job Title: Enterprise Applications and Operations Manager 
Location: Phoenix, AZ – 85012
Duration: Long-term Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day responsibilities are 60% people management/leadership, 40% hands-on technical.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor to motivate staff and produce expected results.
  • Manage and provide direction in support of business operations.
  • Ensure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify/resolve systems issues.
  • Review and analyze existing applications' effectiveness and efficiency; develop strategies for improvements or leveraging systems.
  • Manage assigned projects.
  • Research and recommend software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Evaluate, install, configure, test, deploy, and maintain applications, systems software, products, and enhancements to existing applications across the enterprise.
  • Assist team with day-to-day hands-on technical and operational responsibilities.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for software/system products under consideration for purchase and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams (Information Security, Service Desk, Quality Assurance), internal business units, and external providers to ensure a stable, secure, and well-performing infrastructure/applications environment.
  • Analyze documentation and technical specifications of new applications to determine intended functionality.
  • Negotiate contracts with software and service providers.
  • Liaise with software suppliers for prompt problem resolution.
  • Maintain inventory of software and system assets along with contracts/agreements.
  • Develop and deliver training/documentation for end users; conduct user clinics as needed.
  • Monitor, identify, and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
  • Manage and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Adhere to Incident, Problem, Configuration, and Change Management processes and SLAs.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, implementation, and support of software solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with automated software management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-tiered applications, software QA best practices, and SDLC pipelines.
  • Must have: Experience with AWS Public Cloud Infrastructure including infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, CodeCommit, CodePipeline).
  • Extensive experience administering and maintaining core infrastructure and software applications.
  • Experience with similar environments to the following (specific tools used by ASRS):
    • IBM FileNet
    • Kofax (Tungsten Automation)
    • Atlassian Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence
    • Fortra GoAnywhere MFT
    • Public Key Infrastructure
    • Microsoft Windows Server/Client OS, Active Directory, Group Policy
    • Linux Server OS
    • Docker Containers & Kubernetes
    • SolarWinds Network Monitoring/Alerting
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell) to automate operational tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicable data security and privacy policies.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience leading technical teams in a medium/large enterprise technology environment (mandatory).
  • AWS Public Cloud Infrastructure experience.
  • Kubernetes.
