AME - Metal Stamping Manufacturing Engineer

Who We Are Looking For:
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) organization is seeking an experienced Metal Stamping Manufacturing Engineer. This individual will provide technical support to the New Product Design engineering teams, purchasing, and all internal and external manufacturing facilities. This position will also include project management responsibilities for tracking new tool builds and changes.
This role will be located at the Valley City, OH SBD facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provide technical feedback to New Product Design teams for metal parts manufacturability (DFM), using forming simulation as needed \n
- Work with Industrial Design Team on Manufacturing Feasibility Concepts \n
- Provide stamping tool and piece price estimates for various manufacturing options to establish initial budgeting costs \n
- Manage new tool builds from start to completion:

- Establish and provide request for quote details to tool suppliers \n
- Work with production locations on tooling requirements and approvals \n
- Progress tracking, tool sampling, and quality reporting \n
\n - Design and detail steel stamping dies and concepts as needed \n
- Tooling knoweldge \n
- Provide technical support to internal and external stamping locations \n
- Work with tool rooms and production facilities to ensure parts and tools meet quality standards \n
- Research and implement new manufacturing ideas and concepts \n
- Most tooling is built offsite; this will require excellent verbal and written communication with all manufacturing and tooling facilities \n
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed. 10% \n
Qualifications:
- \n
- BS Degree or equivalent work experience in Metal Stamping / Mechanical Engineering \n
- Proficient with NX, Catia or similar CAD software \n
- Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint \n
- Metal forming simulation experience is a plus \n
- \n
- Knowledge of various Sheet Metal Manufacturing processes
- \n
- Progressive and Single Hit stamping tools \n
- Laser and water jet cutting, press brake forming, etc. \n
\n - Strong analytical problem-solving skills, process improvements, and troubleshooting stamping tooling \n
- Knowledge of tool manufacturing processes (CNC / EDM) \n
- Proactive project management of multiple projects to meet schedules \n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills \n
- High-integrity team member with a strong work ethic and positive, self-motivated, can-do attitude \n
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic and team-oriented work environment \n
