Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mainframe Developer with over 10 years of professional experience to join our technology team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and mainframe utilities. This role will involve working on complex business-critical systems, leading initiatives, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.

  • Analyze, debug, and resolve complex system issues and performance bottlenecks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.

  • Lead system modernization and integration efforts with distributed systems and APIs.

  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and security standards.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers.

  • Work with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for mainframe environments.

  • Prepare technical documentation and provide production support when needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe development.

  • Strong expertise in:

    • COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM

    • Mainframe utilities such as File-Aid, Expeditor, Abend-AID, SORT

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Endevor, Changeman).

  • Familiarity with scheduling tools like CA7, Control-M, etc.

  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).

  • Experience in system performance tuning and optimization.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with modernization tools or migration to distributed/cloud platforms.

  • Exposure to API development and integration with REST/SOAP services.

  • Working knowledge of REXX, Easytrieve, or assembler is a plus.

  • Experience in BFSI or healthcare domain.

Education:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
