Our best-in-class products are just the start as we lay the groundwork for the future of digital banking and payments. We hope you'll join us.

Welcome to the Product team. Over your 10-week internship, you will lead a critical discovery project for our Document Imaging and Data Capture solutions. Your mission is to understand our users and market by conducting customer interviews to find pain points, analyzing the competitive landscape for gaps, and mapping the user journey to identify friction. This role requires close collaboration with design and engineering partners. We expect you to bring innovative ideas, rigorous analysis, and a strong user-advocacy mindset to help shape our product roadmap.

Interns at Jack Henry earn $25/hour and work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday .

The Summer 2026 Internship Program runs from June 1 through August 7, 2026 .

This is a remote position , with eligibility limited to candidates residing within approximately a 70-mile radius of one of our hub office locations: Allen, TX; Springfield, MO; Charlotte, NC; Lenexa, KS; Cedar Falls, IA; or Birmingham, AL .

What you'll be responsible for:

Execute end-to-end customer research by developing and conducting user interviews and surveys to uncover key pain points and unmet needs in document imaging.
Perform competitive benchmarking and feature gap analysis to create a comparative matrix that identifies opportunities for product differentiation.
Map the current user journey to identify friction points and collaborate with product and design to recommend specific workflow and UX/UI improvements.
Analyze and synthesize all findings (customer, competitor, and user journey) into a final structured report, presenting actionable recommendations to the product team to help inform our roadmap.

What you'll need to have:

Pursuing a degree in: Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Marketing, Business Analytics, Computer Science
Demonstrated foundational knowledge or early experience in relevant areas of interest: We are looking for candidates who demonstrate foundational analytical skills through coursework or projects-such as data analysis, market research, or user feedback synthesis-paired with a genuine, articulated interest in financial technology or the banking industry. Any exposure to the unique challenges and opportunities facing community banks or credit unions, even through academic study, is a significant plus.

What would be nice for you to have:

Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex problems, identify patterns in data, and draw logical conclusions.
Data Curiosity: A genuine interest in digging into data (quantitative or qualitative) to understand why things are happening and to uncover insights.
Communication & Empathy: Skills to clearly present findings and, crucially, to understand and articulate the specific needs and challenges of community bank/credit union users.
Prioritization Instincts: Early signs of understanding that not all ideas can be built; an ability to think about what is most important or impactful.
Quick Learner: Eagerness and ability to quickly grasp new concepts, including financial industry basics, software development processes, and analysis tools.
Proactive & Detail-Oriented: A self-starter attitude, taking initiative on tasks and paying close attention to the accuracy of data and analysis.
