Stryker Instruments is seeking a Senior Staff Wireless Engineer - Product Safety to serve as a division-wide specialist supporting our diverse product portfolio. In this role, you'll lead efforts related to wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-enabled devices, ensuring products meet global wireless compliance and certification standards. You'll work hands-on in the lab, executing testing protocols based on international regulations (training available) and collaborating across teams to support all wireless safety initiatives within the division.

This role is hybrid in Portage, MI with the expectation to be in office 3-4 days a week.

What you will do:
  • Lead wireless test and certification strategy for new product development and global markets.
  • Develop and document procedures for wireless compliance testing in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and execute wireless testing plans to ensure best-in-class performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and evolve wireless technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Interpret global wireless standards to support product globalization and portfolio growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate wireless compliance into product design and development.
  • Manage third-party certification labs and ensure accurate documentation and market access.
  • Provide mentorship, lead reviews, and influence industry standards and regulatory strategies.
  • Represent Stryker in industry forums, and participate in customer-focused activities like VOC and BETA tests.

What You Need

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 6+ years of engineering experience
  • 4+ years in RF/wireless testing
  • Experience in a regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the medical device development lifecycle and risk management.
  • Experience in RF/wireless testing with regulatory certification (e.g., FCC, CE, MIC).
  • Strong understanding of wireless standards (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) and RF measurement techniques.
  • Experience in managing third-party labs and global certification processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive compliance and influence regulatory/industry standards.

Travel Percentage: 10%
