Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid 3 days onsite, local candidates only)
Length: 12+ months

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Integration Lead to support its enterprise financial and payroll operations. This position is a high-impact role on a dynamic team responsible for the successful design, delivery, and ongoing support of integrations between Workday Finance and Payroll modules and other internal and external systems. The role will serve as a hands-on technical expert while also guiding team activities, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring that integrations are reliable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical proficiency with business acumen, project leadership experience, and the flexibility to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Lead the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of Workday integrations with internal and third-party systems.
  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for Workday Finance and Payroll integration architecture, tools, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, HR, Finance, and external vendors, to gather requirements and develop scalable integration solutions.
  • Utilize Workday integration tools such as Integration Cloud, EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, and PICOF to build and manage integrations.
  • Support integration of Workday Adaptive Planning with core Workday Finance modules.
  • Ensure end-to-end data accuracy, quality, and integrity across platforms, with a focus on financial and payroll workflows (AP/AR, GL, banking, tax filing, benefits, compensation).
  • Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and optimize for scalability and efficiency.
  • Participate in and contribute to enterprise system planning and decision-making related to integration strategies.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and leader to other team members while also contributing directly to hands-on integration development work.
  • Support urgent operational needs outside of traditional hours, including addressing critical incidents, system breaks, and deployment issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with ERP system implementations, including 3+ years specifically in Workday Finance and/or Payroll integrations.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with Workday integration technologies: Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, PICOF, and Integration Cloud.
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning and its integration with financial modules.
  • Strong understanding of finance and payroll functions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, banking, payroll processing, tax filings, benefits, and compensation.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with an expectation of being onsite at least 3 days per week.
  • Flexibility to respond to after-hours operational needs and take on responsibilities beyond core duties as needed.
  • Previous experience working in higher education, healthcare, or large-scale non-profit sectors is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, data privacy regulations, and security protocols related to ERP systems is a plus.
