Job Title
Infrastructure Lead / Infrastructure Engineer Utilities Vertical
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Lead (or Senior Infrastructure Engineer) who has both deep infrastructure skills and exposure to the Utilities vertical. In this role, you will design, manage, and evolve infrastructure environments that support utility-sector use cases, working closely with domain and engineering teams to ensure systems reliability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, deploy, and maintain robust infrastructure (on-premises, cloud, hybrid) for utility domain applications
Define infrastructure standards, best practices, and governance aligned with utility operations
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning, and redundancy designs
Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize for cost, latency, and scaling
Automate provisioning, configuration, and operations (IaC, scripting, orchestration)
Drive security and compliance (e.g. regulatory constraints relevant to utilities)
Collaborate with functional, application, and data teams to ensure infrastructure meets utility domain needs
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in live environments
Stay current with new infrastructure tools and frameworks relevant to industry and utility demands
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years in infrastructure engineering / operations / architecture
Strong experience across server, networking, virtualization, storage, and cloud services
Hands-on with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, etc.)
Experience in observability, monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, etc.)
Proven exposure or prior projects in the Utilities sector (electric power, gas, water, energy, distribution, grid systems, etc.)
Understanding of regulatory, compliance, and operational constraints for utility environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Infrastructure / Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, etc.)
Experience integrating infrastructure with domain-specific systems (SCADA, ICS, telemetry, grid control)
Prior leadership or mentoring experience
