Description

SAIC is looking to hire a Display Technology Research Engineer to support our operations within the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Eglin, AFB Florida. The candidate would conduct research and development related to display technology testing and characterization and design and execute experiments to evaluate display systems. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize display systems and develop and maintain scripts for data acquisition and analysis. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing data and providing insights for display technology improvements, providing regular updates to team members and government sponsors on research progress, and staying up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies. This position is not eligible for remote work and the successful candidate will work with other assigned engineers on-site.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Optics, or related field
  • 2+ years working in a laboratory environment
  • Strong engineering and research skills
  • Proficiency in optics and optomechanics
  • Experience scripting control software of laboratory instrumentation
  • Proficient in data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in characterizing display technologies (MEMS, LCD, OLED, LED, etc.)
  • Experience with infrared cameras and camera calibration.
  • Experience with display calibration
  • Familiarity with display measurement equipment (cameras, spectrometers, spectroradiometers, colorimeters, photodiode detectors, etc.)
