Job Overview

Seeking an Application Support Specialist to provide onsite end-user PC and software support in a District Court environment. The role involves supporting court staff (including judges and judicial staff) as well as the public, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring smooth operation of court-specific systems. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to quickly learn specialized applications such as MiFILE, and familiarity with court audio/visual recording technology.

The specialist will work closely with the County IT team on incidents requiring higher-level technical support. Since the role is primarily focused on supporting court staff while court is in session, it is a full onsite position in Rochester Hills, MI.

  • Learn and support the MiFILE application and other court-specific line-of-business systems.

  • Support and troubleshoot courtroom audio/visual and recording technologies.

  • Assist the public with access and use of court systems.

  • Collaborate with the IT team for escalation of complex technical issues.

  • Ensure effective operation of hybrid meeting technologies (e.g., Zoom).

  • Provide timely response and resolution to all technology-related issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 5 years of experience in IT support or application support.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with:

    • Courtroom A/V broadcast and recording systems (e.g., JAVS, BIS).

    • Hybrid meeting tools (Zoom or similar).

    • Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills for working with both staff and the public.

  • Ability to work fully onsite, 5 days a week.
