Job Title: IT Construction PM
Location: Detroit, MI (Hybrid schedule)
Contract Type: W2 Consultant / Contract
Duration: 12 months then eligible for Contract renewal
Key Skills:
- Experience with IT infrastructure (running cable, etc.)
- Hospital infrastructure
- Understanding of Clinical workflow
- Understanding of communication room
- Experience reviewing and making edits on CAD drawings
- Experience with HCRA (Health Care Reform Act) which aims to ensure patient safety and quality of care during construction or renovation projects within patient care facilities.
General Summary:
Reports to the Director of the IT Project Management Office. The position is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, designing capital IT construction projects across the health system. Work under general supervision, oversees small to large sized IT construction projects of low to moderate complexity. The principle accountabilities are to assume successful completion of all IT construction projects by overseeing the design, construction, equipment/furnishing, IT and occupancy planning. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to planning, design, project finance, conceptual estimating and project close out.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops and manages project scope, schedule and budge for IT construction projects at all system locations.
- Create and updates required CAD drawings. Interfaces with Facilities, Helios, Customers, contractors and IT teams. All documents that are associated with this compliance.
- Assures compliance with internal policies, procedures, standards of accrediting bodies and government agencies. Develop and implements activities associated with the joint commission, CMS for Environment of Care and Life Safety.
- Works with supply chain to bid, award and hire architects, contractors and construction managers.
- Monitors project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinates with equipment selection and information technology.
- Collaborates inpatient care areas to create a positive patient experience.
- Tracks project cost, projections and expenditures.
Education/Experience required:
- High School diploma required. Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
- A minimal of 10 years of experience in Construction.
- Seven to ten (7-10) years of project management experience required at a minimal; five (5) years of project management experience in a Healthcare setting preferred.
- Experience/exposure to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), certification preferred.
- Knowledge of the following Software Packages is preferred, MS Project, Pro Log, and AutoCAD.
- Experience working with a project management methodology.
- Experience in IT system implementations and/or system maintenance activities.
