Role: Data Engineer (Mid-level)
Location: Remote (requires onsite 3 times/year)
Duration: 1 year open-ended Contract (potential to convert to FTE)
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a high-performing Agile POD focused on cloud data development. This role will initially involve production support and enhancements across both cloud and on-prem environments. As the team transitions into a full development POD in the next Program Increment (PI), the focus will shift toward building scalable cloud-native data solutions using AWS technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide production support and implement enhancements for existing data pipelines using AWS Glue, Python, and Ab Initio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize data workflows.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Transition into full-scale cloud data development, designing and building new data pipelines and solutions using AWS services.
- Support modernization efforts by integrating legacy systems into cloud infrastructure.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
- Step Functions
- Lambda
- Glue
- Iceberg
- Solid understanding of data architecture and ETL processes.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Familiarity with Ab Initio legacy solutions is highly beneficial.
- Prior experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
