The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $50.00 to $55.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

Job Title: Engineer (SQL/Python debugging)

Location: Remote (MST or CST Hours)

Duration: 2 months (with possibility of extending)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled SQL / Python Engineer to join our team for a short-term project focused primarily on debugging and quality assurance of existing code. The core coding is already completed, but the original developer was unable to complete the debugging phase. This role will be critical in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and functionality of approximately 10,000 lines of SQL code and in reviewing related Python scripts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Debug and optimize ~10,000 lines of SQL code to ensure accurate functionality and performance.
  • Review and validate existing Python code to ensure proper operation and integration with SQL components.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve logic or performance issues.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to verify requirements and confirm fixes.
  • Provide documentation of debugging process and code changes.
  • (Preferred) Utilize Jenkins, GitHub, and Docker for version control, testing, and deployment processes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, with proven debugging and optimization experience.
  • Solid Python coding skills, with emphasis on debugging and code review.
  • Experience in working with large, complex codebases.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • (Preferred but not required) Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub, and Docker.
