Job Details
The Senior Data Engineer will lead data-driven initiatives and implement advanced analytical solutions within the Nuclear IT division. This role focuses on designing, developing, and integrating reliable data pipelines, analytics solutions, and AI-ready infrastructure to support nuclear operations and decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in data engineering, big data technologies, and nuclear industry operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy advanced data analytics solutions to support nuclear operations.
- Collaborate with IT, engineering, and operations teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses to ensure high-quality, accessible data.
- Lead data management initiatives, including data quality, governance, retention, privacy, and security.
- Develop foundational data pipelines to support AI and machine learning initiatives for structured and unstructured data.
- Analyze trends, anomalies, and operational insights using advanced analytical models and algorithms.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance for all nuclear IT data assets.
- Provide Level 3 support for existing Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and innovations in data engineering.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or related roles, preferably within the nuclear or energy sector.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Spark, PySpark, and big data technologies (Hadoop, AWS Glue).
- Experience with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts (Glue, Talend, Redshift, PostGres).
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of nuclear industry data regulations and security standards.
