Summary

The Principal Data Analyst serves as the senior lead for enterprise data operations, analytics governance, and performance measurement. This role directs the design, validation, and implementation of analytical frameworks that transform complex data sources into actionable insights supporting business performance, quality improvement, and operational decision-making.

You will provide strategic direction and hands-on technical expertise across the full data lifecycle-from data ingestion and validation through reporting and insight generation. The role balances analytical rigor with business acumen, ensuring that performance metrics, data pipelines, and dashboards meet both technical and organizational standards for accuracy, integrity, and usability.

Your role in our mission

Essential Job Functions
  • Data Operations Leadership: Oversee data aggregation, transformation, and validation workflows to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across analytic environments.
  • Performance Measurement: Lead end-to-end calculation, review, and reconciliation of key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality measures across multiple business domains.
  • Analytical Framework Development: Design reproducible data models, standardized calculation templates, and automated reporting pipelines using SQL, Python, and modern analytics platforms.
  • Data Governance: Define and enforce data validation checkpoints, version control, and business rules; maintain audit-ready documentation and data dictionaries.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business, engineering, and analytics teams to align on specifications, resolve discrepancies, and deliver data products that inform strategy.
  • Insight Generation: Produce executive-level dashboards, trend reports, and variance analyses that identify key performance drivers and improvement opportunities.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and training for analysts and engineers to strengthen analytic consistency and capability across teams.


What we're looking for

  • 12+ years of experience in enterprise data analytics, reporting, or healthcare performance measurement.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and large-scale data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar).
  • Strong experience in data validation, multi-source integration, and healthcare performance metric development.
  • Proven ability to communicate analytical findings to executive and technical audiences alike.

Other Qualifications
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and large-scale analytical initiatives.
  • Experience working with healthcare in a data-intensive regulated role.

The pay range for this position is $116,100.00 - $165,900.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
