Job Description:

The role is to -- Re-engineer the portal for the participants. There are about 5 million participants and the system isn t working well right now. It needs an entire re-write of the underlying system and a re-write of the UI / UX. And they may move to azure.
This is a portal that allows corporations to sell / deem / give stock to their employees. There is a corporate administrator portal, and an Employee / Participant Portal. The project is to rebuild the employee / participant portal. Because the Bank wants to
Massively increase the volume of business going thru it, and turn some of these employee/ participants into Wealth Management customers

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior React Mobile Developer to lead the end-to-end re-engineering of a high-impact Employee / Participant Portal for a major financial institution. This portal enables corporations to distribute and manage employee stock plans and serves over 5 million participants globally. The goal is to rebuild the entire user interface and underlying architecture to improve scalability, performance, and user experience.
This is a greenfield project, offering the opportunity to architect and implement a modern solution from the ground up, with a strong focus on mobile responsiveness and cross-platform support (iOS, Android, iPads, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of a next-generation React-based portal for millions of participants.
• Re-engineer both UI/UX and system architecture to handle significantly increased transaction volumes.
• Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to deliver a seamless and intuitive user experience.
• Develop mobile-responsive applications that perform well on iPhones, Android devices, and tablets.
• Potentially migrate or integrate with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
• Engage directly with business stakeholders, including wealth management and capital markets teams, to gather requirements and deliver features.
• Operate as a self-sufficient, proactive individual contributor who can own and drive the project from inception to delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in front-end development, with a strong emphasis on React.js.
• Expertise in building complex, mobile-friendly UIs using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React Native or responsive design frameworks.
• Deep understanding of web architecture, performance optimization, and scalable frontend systems.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects in financial services, particularly in wealth management or capital markets.
• Strong knowledge of UI/UX design principles with hands-on experience in delivering exceptional digital experiences.
• Experience integrating with backend APIs and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with business teams and stakeholders.
• Highly motivated, self-starter with a track record of delivering high-quality products independently

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD pipelines.
• Prior involvement in building systems used by tens of thousands or millions of users.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA) and internationalization/localization.
