Jr. System Administrator
Location: Durham, NC - Onsite (Occasional Travel is Required)
Duration: 5 months - 867 hours
Pay rate : $ 41.66/hr. On w2
Type: Contract
Travel: Yes - Contractor may be required to travel to Client plants across the country on occasion. Frequency not confirmed but could be 3-5 times throughout engagement.

Job Title: Junior System Administrator - Windows, VMware, Azure
Overview:
We are seeking skilled a Junior Systems Administrator with expertise in Windows Server Operations, VMware, and Azure Administration to join our team onsite in Durham, NC.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with River Meadow migration tools and will work closely with application teams to support, maintain, and optimize our client's technology stack.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (versions 2008 through 2025).
Manage and optimize VMware vSphere infrastructure (version 8.x).
Perform Azure Administration tasks, including resource provisioning, monitoring, and security management.
Collaborate directly with application teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability.
Support server migrations and cloud adoption initiatives, leveraging River Meadow experience.
Implement and maintain system security protocols, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
Perform occasional travel to client plants across the U.S. for onsite support and projects (most work will be in Durham, NC).
Required Qualifications:
Experience in Windows Server administration (2008-2025).
Strong background in VMware vSphere administration (8.x preferred).
Hands-on experience with Azure Administration in enterprise environments.
Experience with River Meadow migration tools or similar technologies.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with application teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Ability to travel occasionally for onsite support at remote facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as MCSE, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Azure Administrator Associate.
Experience in manufacturing or plant-based IT environments.
Work Environment:
Onsite role in Durham, NC with occasional travel to plants nationwide.
Fast-paced, collaborative environment with direct engagement with technical and business teams.
