Job Overview

Come join the TurboTax Program Delivery team in San Diego as a Staff Technical Program Manager! We are looking for creative problem solvers with a passion for innovation and tackling tough customer problems at scale.

This role is responsible for planning and executing complex programs which often cross over multiple organizations and requires collaborating with senior leaders in the organization to accelerate outcomes. The candidate will have a proven record of complex software delivery. Experience working with teams that build and adopt durable capabilities is a plus.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent degree/experience
  • 8+ years Technical Program Management experience
  • Excellent leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment, and ability to influence at all levels
  • Exceptional ability to build strong relationships and leverage those relationships to influence across organizational boundaries
  • Outstanding communication skills appropriate for executive-level audiences visually communicating goals of program, relationship to business goals, and other relevant success criteria
  • Motivated self-starter with an attention to detail with a proven ability to innovate under new and/or changing conditions


Responsibilities

  • Understand the external environment, overall company and platform strategy and facilitates the creation, contributes to and drives execution of the project/program strategy
  • Develop high quality end-to-end plans and breakdown the work into manageable pieces that can be delegated or individually owned
  • Apply the right program management methodologies, tools, and skills to develop a detailed execution approach that is the right fit for the program
  • Build strong trust-based teams and thoughtful change management plans to lead and influence a cross functional team to achieve a shared goal
  • Drive for improvement by leveraging best practices and creating and documenting repeatable frameworks. Invest in building capability in others for managing projects, programs, and portfolios to deliver outcomes at scale
  • Apply appropriate SDLC methodologies to programs
  • Identify technical dependencies and any gaps, determine capabilities needed and engage the proper technical experts to solve the problem; and determine a solution
  • Deliver on engineering and operational excellence
  • Solve for technology risks/issues and drives response plans, communication (up, down, and out) and resolution
