Role: Wi-Fi Architect (Telecom Domain Experience) Location: Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)
Position Overview
We are seeking two experienced Wi-Fi Architects to design, develop, and optimize Wi-Fi architecture for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) products. This role focuses on enhancing Wi-Fi performance, improving the customer experience, and driving innovation in network solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in WLAN protocols, security standards, and advanced Wi-Fi technologies, with proven experience in the telecom domain.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development: Create and implement Wi-Fi architecture solutions for CPE products, optimizing radio and antenna parameters for maximum performance.
Performance Optimization: Develop metrics to evaluate and improve Wi-Fi performance, ensuring optimal customer experience.
Testing & Simulation: Build lab setups to simulate real-world conditions, conduct traffic model research, and analyze industry trends for testing strategies.
Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Development teams to define technical requirements and integrate them into product designs.
Defect Resolution: Identify, reproduce, and resolve lab and field issues, implementing quick solutions in a fast-paced DevOps environment.
Technical Leadership: Lead projects and mentor team members, sharing expertise in complex network environments.
Automation Integration: Collaborate with tool development teams to enhance test automation capabilities for new features.
Documentation & Validation: Review and validate design specifications, focusing on architecture, testability, and verification.
Quality Assurance: Assist in defining QA strategies, best practices, and methodologies for product testing.
Standards Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant IEEE, WFA, WBA, and IETF standards.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years in Wi-Fi architecture, WLAN protocol development, and optimization (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be).
Security Expertise: Strong knowledge of WPA2, WPA3, 802.1X protocols.
Advanced Wi-Fi Technologies: Experience with Wi-Fi extenders, mesh networking, and steering protocols (802.11k, 802.11v, 802.11r).
Technical Skills: Proven ability to characterize Wi-Fi performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve complex engineering challenges.
Automation & Tools: Familiarity with advanced Wi-Fi test automation frameworks and solutions.
Standards Knowledge: Understanding of telecom and Wi-Fi industry standards and best practices.
Collaboration Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities for cross-functional engagement.
