Senior Business Analyst

We are again supporting a government agency who are looking for a Business Analyst to join their team.

You will collaborate with a project team and business stakeholders to perform complex to advanced Business Analyst work including documentation of its business processes, requirements gathering, systems and software analysis, design, and test activities for all phases of this solution implementation project.

This will be a six-month contract with the potential for extension to 12 months +

The position is remote but will require you to be based in Texas to qualify.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and leads meetings to understand and document business operations, systems, and user needs, ensuring a comprehensive analysis of requirements for technology solutions that enhance business value.
• Assists in defining functional and technical requirements for new solutions, focusing on software that addresses business problems, adheres to quality standards, and integrates seamlessly with existing systems. This involves writing detailed documentation, including technical specifications for both internal and third-party application development, and supporting the software implementation phases to ensure successful deployment.
• Acts as a liaison between IT and business stakeholders to grasp the organization's structure, policies, and operations, aiming to align technology solutions with business strategies. This role includes performing systems analysis to support project needs, such as the creation of business process maps and system architecture diagrams.
• Reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and develops test cases and scenarios based on business and system requirements to ensure traceability and participates in or designs quality assurance test plans. This responsibility extends to coordinating user acceptance testing and working in cooperation with the project team to identify and document software defects, coordinating defect solutions with the project s Technical Lead.

Skills

• 7-8 Years experience in a Business Analyst role
• Experience preparing and executing test plans, developing business process maps, and performing fit-gap analyses
• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle management software like HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) or Atlassian
• Comfort Data gathering from different sources
• Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Bonus points

• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
• Any exposure to Call Center Technologies and/or chatbots
• Previous government agency experience is very welcome
