Job Details

Tesla Production Team is seeking a skilled and highly motivated, engineer to lead the end-to-end precision manufacturing of critical components that goes into Tesla vehicles. We work with the cross-functional teams (Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain) to deliver the world-class products that will shape the future of Tesla. The role of Production Engineer is to support precision manufacturing process to drive scalable methods to high volume production.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed renovating plans, including scope definition, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments of the plant assigned
  • Conduct thorough inspections of facilities to identify hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, asbestos), structural risks, and environmental considerations to ensure safe teardown processes
  • Oversee the safe disconnection, dismantling, and removal of heavy machinery, production lines, and ancillary systems, such as electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, specific to automotive manufacturing. Coordinate specialized lifting and transportation for oversized equipment
  • Evaluate and manage the relocation, repurposing, or disposal of decommissioned equipment, ensuring maximum asset value recovery while minimizing operational disruptions
  • Maintain detailed records of decommissioning activities, including compliance reports, safety audits, and project progress updates for stakeholders

Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in decommissioning or renovating manufacturing or energy facilities is strongly preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and manage contractors under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in engineering principles, AutoCAD, project management software, and familiarity with automotive manufacturing equipment (e.g., robotic assembly lines, presses, conveyors)
  • Proven track record managing a large and diverse manufacturing operation consisting of several engineers and technicians working on a compressed workweek schedule
  • The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, self-motivated, well organized, and able to pro-actively communicate with all employees and works well in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing demands and meet tight deadlines with strong follow through
  • Capable of driving teams to successful completion of simultaneous projects through project controls including schedule/resource planning and cost control

      $132,000 - $240,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
