Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is immediately adding a full-time Materials Test Engineer in support of our nationally recognized, Consumer and Commercial Electronic R&D client in Fort Collins, Colorado (CO). This person will be required to go onsite daily.

Responsibilities:
* Follow Material Science Lab standard operating procedures (SOP) to meet requests of lab customers
* Report findings and analysis accurately and in a timely manner
* When necessary, collaborate with lab members to achieve tasks, tests, and analysis, and peer review reports
* Contribute to the laboratory's success with knowledge and experience to improve efficiencies, create or update SOPs, and conduct analysis with strong attention to detail
* Contribute to a dynamic lab where requests and expectations will shift based on customer needs and availability

REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a Related Engineering or Research Field
* 2-4 years of professional or research experience
* Laboratory experience: data collection, data analysis; Conduct experiments methodically with attention to detail, provide comprehensive reporting, and peer review
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
* Hands-on testing and laboratory/research skills
* Strong integration & problem-solving skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience working or researching in multi- or cross-disciplinary teams is a plus

Desired Skills:
* Strong command of general principles of Materials Science & Engineering
* Knowledge of electronic component troubleshooting, computer hardware components, and familiarity with schematics
* Experience with analysis systems and tools such as realtime x-ray machines, scanning electron microscopes (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), cross sectioning and microscopy, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
* Familiarity with materials measurement and characterization methods, included but not limited to: GCMS, DSC, TGA, microscopy, spectroscopy, rheometry, flow characterization, spectrometers, and X-ray equipment
* Knowledge of IPC standards for electronics assembly including the IPC-A-610 (Printed circuit assembly acceptance criteria) and IPC-A-600 (printed circuit board acceptance criteria)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
