Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled Tech Engineering Manager with a strong background in Python programming, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps. The ideal candidate will lead a talented engineering team, oversee the development of scalable data platforms, and drive innovation in our technology stack. Prior domain knowledge is a plus but can be developed through training experience in Risk Tech, Equities, Capital Markets, Fixed Income Trading, or Regulatory environments is preferred.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $130k - $150k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Architect, develop, and maintain robust, scalable data platforms and applications leveraging Python, AWS, Kubernetes, EC2, and DevOps best practices.
  • Drive automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical strategies and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and best practices in cloud and data platform management.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant innovations into the team's workflow.
  • Assist in resource planning, project management, and technical decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Strong programming experience in Python.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services, especially EC2, and experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • Expertise in DevOps methodologies and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record in leading, mentoring, and managing engineering teams.
  • Data Platforms: Extensive knowledge of data platform architecture, data pipelines, and big data concepts.
  • Domain Knowledge: Highly desired familiarity with Risk Tech, Equities, Capital Markets, Fixed Income Trading, or Regulatory environments. Training support can be provided if missing.
  • Additional Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to design scalable and reliable technology solutions.
