Job Title: Snowflake Developer

Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)

Employment Type: W2 Contract ( No C2C)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Developer to design, build, and optimize our cloud data warehouse solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Snowflake architecture, SQL development, and ETL/ELT pipelines, with a strong ability to deliver scalable and high-performance data solutions. You will collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to enable data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement Snowflake data warehouses, including schemas, tables, and secure data sharing.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and UDFs for performance and efficiency.
  • Implement Snowflake features (clustering, time travel, zero-copy cloning, materialized views).
  • Monitor and tune query performance, resource utilization, and cost optimization.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines using Snowflake Snowpipe, streams, and tasks.
  • Integrate Snowflake with ETL tools (Matillion, Informatica, Talend, Fivetran) and cloud services (AWS S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Platform Cloud Storage).
  • Develop automated workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
  • Design star/snowflake schemas and implement data modeling best practices.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance (RBAC, encryption, masking policies).
  • Maintain metadata, data lineage, and documentation for Snowflake objects.
  • Work with BI teams to enable reporting in tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Support data migration from on-premise or other cloud platforms to Snowflake.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in production environments.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 11+ years in data warehousing, with 7+ years in Snowflake.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Snowflake architecture (virtual warehouses, stages, data sharing).
    • Advanced SQL (query optimization, window functions, stored procedures).
    • ETL/ELT tools (Matillion, Informatica, Talend, or custom scripts).
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience with:
    • Data modeling (Kimball, Inmon, or Data Vault).
    • Python/Snowpark for data processing (preferred).
    • CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).

Nice to Have

  • Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core, SnowPro Advanced).
  • Experience with dbt (data build tool) for transformations.
  • Knowledge of streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis).
