Job Title: Senior Data Scientist (Python, PowerBI)
Location: Calabasas, CA (Hybrid 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Department: Data & Analytics
Reports To: Director, Data Science & Analytics

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our growing analytics team in Calabasas, CA. This is a highly technical, hands-on role that also requires strong project leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interfacing with business leaders across departments, driving analytics projects from concept to execution, and contributing to data platform modernization efforts.

While the internal title is Senior Data Science Manager, this is an individual contributor position with opportunities to grow in scope and ownership, not in direct people management. This role is urgently needed to continue momentum on key analytics initiatives supporting Revenue Management, Pricing, Asset Management, and Property Tax.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute full-cycle analytics projects in close collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Migrate existing Python scripts and data pipelines from legacy systems to Databricks.
  • Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Quickly ramp up on business logic and data structures before proposing process or model enhancements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making and accountability.
  • Contribute to future machine learning initiatives as the organization s data infrastructure and maturity evolve.
  • Provide technical oversight of external vendors or additional FTEs as the team grows.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, transformation, and modeling.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience building visualizations in Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience with or strong understanding of Databricks is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently and deliver business value.
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline.
