Contract: W2 only, 4 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI
Pay: $55 /hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Overview

This role involves hands-on configuration, deployment, and optimization of LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, and communication links. The position requires monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure to meet company standards, with a focus on Cisco and Juniper technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on IP router, switch, and telephony customer premises equipment management
  • Design, configure, and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software, and communication links
  • Optimize network and system services and troubleshoot performance issues
  • Monitor and support network infrastructure to ensure service quality and reliability
  • Lead or participate in multiple project teams, managing multiple projects simultaneously

Required Skills

  • 5 to 8 years of experience with Cisco and Juniper routers
  • Strong knowledge of internetworking designs and routing applications
  • Solid understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies
  • Experience with protocols such as MPLS, OSPF, BGP, and extensive Route Object (ERO)
  • Firewall experience with Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, Checkpoint NG, etc.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in Nokia CLI & configuration
  • Knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, and networking protocols
  • Experience with server-based technologies such as Microsoft and Unix is a plus
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Additional certifications like JNCIA are desirable
