Background:
The AF Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) manages programs that provide systems for the Air Force Information Network (AFIN). These programs provide the networking infrastructure, network management, network defense (cybersecurity), and associated services for voice, data, video, sensor, control, and other forms of wired and wireless electronic communications on the AFIN. The BITI Program procures, installs and sustains the BAN infrastructure.
The current BAN infrastructure is typically comprised of a single-mode fiber backbone with copper/fiber to the desktop and wireless access points. The basic technology is TCP/IP over IEEE802.3 Ethernet and IEEE802.11 Wireless and a network management system which allows for base level monitoring, maintaining configuration control, maintaining asset management and
general network statsituational awareness.
This is the second iteration of BITI RESET where the scope consists of a complete wired upgrade, upgrade and expansion of wireless, along with a centrally managed SDN network that provides a single-pane-of-glass for the wired and wireless system. The flight-line solution should seek to utilize a private or public 5G LTE solution. BITI RESET 2.0 will seek to incorporate SIPRNet and VVoIP in addition to a complete modernization of the BAN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.75 - $43.75/hr.
