Job Details

Genesis10 is seeking a Workday Configuration Specialist for a 12-month contract position with a client located in Milwaukee, WI. This role is 100% remote.

Compensation: $40.00- $53.00 per hour, depending on skill and experience level.

Summary:

The Workday Configuration Specialist supports the Workday platform by configuring, customizing, and governing Workday functionality to support strategic objectives. This role involves responding to tickets, incidents, and requests from end-users while partnering on longer-term and more complex projects. The position is part of the HR Systems team-a group that values data, tools, and process optimization. The team prioritizes user experience, leverages data to guide business decisions, and fosters a positive environment of empowerment, inclusion, and engagement.

Responsibilities:
  • Optimize configuration and ensure smooth operation of Workday functionality.
  • Analyze configurations versus desired functionality to diagnose gaps, roadblocks, and inefficiencies.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by responding promptly, professionally, and consultatively to tickets, incidents, and requests.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to end-users, maintaining clear communication on progress and options.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and implement scalable, future-proof solutions.
  • Maintain and improve data integrity within Workday by running audits, analyzing data, and supporting daily transactional reviews.
  • Manage Workday release planning, identifying impacts and enhancement opportunities, supporting regression testing, and communicating changes effectively.
  • Maintain a collaborative and informed HR Systems team through documentation and knowledge-sharing activities.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience configuring Workday across at least two modules (e.g., Talent and Performance, Absence and Time Tracking, Recruiting, Core HCM, etc.) supporting a mid-to-large-sized organization.
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes, metrics, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to partner with functional stakeholders to design Workday configurations aligned with business needs.
  • Experience troubleshooting configuration and integration issues through root-cause analysis and independent testing.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and project management skills with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to navigate complex challenges independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service orientation with the ability to manage conflict and collaborate effectively.
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
  • Able to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10 (no corp to corp).
