In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to -
Lead the Nuclear Program Team in efforts to include technical direction, execution, planning, and staffing for the applicable nuclear portfolio
Manage all cost, technical, risk, schedule, and engineering deliverables for Nuclear Power and Propulsion projects within LM Space
Provide oversight and support to critical program area Engineering skill development, which includes providing recommendations on nuclear skill sets needed to meet nuclear long range plan objectives for LM Space, and developing and implementing nuclear critical skill trainings for Space applications.
Perform staffing and performance responsibilities; in coordination with HR and established Lockheed Martin processes
Establish, manage, and communicate team expectations, goals, roles, responsibilities, and objectives
Collaborate with government and customer representatives in support of critical space-based daily operations and distributed multi-element deliveries and activities
Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, design, and review of nuclear propulsion components and systems
Perform trade studies to select appropriate design solutions
Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components
Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team performing detailed aerospace design and analysis on nuclear systems/subsystems
Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design review.
Basic Qualifications
Fundamental understanding of propulsion aerospace hardware systems and processes
Demonstrated Program/Project Management and/or leadership skills
Familiarity with nuclear engineering in either (design, analysis, manufacturing, test, safety or operations)
and ability of obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering and/or equivalent experience or job related exposure
Desired skills
Desire and ability to own technical challenges
Advanced degree in Physics or Nuclear Engineering
CAM or CAM-like training or experience to include execution of scope and managing projects on schedule and within cost.
CAM certified
Customer interaction and familiarity with the National Labs/Facilities, DOD customers, or NASA
Direct experience with Nuclear Engineering

Work Schedule Information

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
