Job Title: Security Technician

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Security Technicians to join a growing team in the Savannah market. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of security alarm wiring, equipment, and access control devices. We require both Level 1 and Level 2 experience for these positions.

Responsibilities

  • Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, floors, and other areas as required.
  • Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.
  • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
  • Install, maintain, or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
  • Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
  • Mount raceways and conduits, and fasten wires to wood framing using staplers.
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.
  • Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features to ensure proper functioning and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and basic network-related problems encountered by end-users.
  • Understand IPV4 and assign a computer an IP address.
  • Complete projects within budget, on time, and in a safe manner.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, and team members.
  • Submit all paperwork on time.
  • Adhere to all required project-specific and company safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of low voltage field experience.
  • Security installation experience including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
  • Structured cabling experience, particularly with Cat5/6.
  • Ability to learn and take direction effectively.
  • Professional communication and delegation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technicians must supply their own hand tools.
  • Steel toe boots, hard hat, and vest are required.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Work Environment

Work will take place on new construction or remodel commercial sites. The role requires physical activities such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms for up to eight hours daily, and coordination of hands and eyes while using tools. Employees must be able to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl in various environments such as basements, crawl spaces, and attics.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
