Cloud Engineer

Our client is looking for a cloud engineer who s ready to take the lead on building a secure AWS environment built for research and high-stakes workloads. If you enjoy solving complex problems, designing strong cloud foundations, and shaping how teams use AWS safely and efficiently, this role will keep you engaged.
You ll work closely with internal teams and AWS experts, doing meaningful work that has a real impact on security, compliance, and long-term cloud strategy.


  • Location: Remote PST
  • Compensation: This job is expected to pay about 100-115/HR
  • No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role

What You ll Do:

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the engineering and deployment of a secure AWS environment, including landing zones, account structures, networking, IAM, monitoring, and NIST 800-171-aligned controls.
  • Collaborate with AWS teams and internal stakeholders to interpret requirements, map controls to AWS services, and implement detective and preventative guardrails.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and CloudFormation, and develop automation scripts for security and compliance validation.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, manage support workflows, and ensure timely resolution aligned with service expectations.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, support audit preparation, and participate in planning sessions and compliance assessments.

What Gets You the Job:

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience, ideally with a focus on AWS environments.
  • Strong background in designing secure cloud architectures and implementing compliance-focused configurations.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, and automation scripting languages.
  • Experience managing troubleshooting, workflows, and incident response across cloud systems.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
