The Integrated Solutions Modeling and Architecture Directorate (ISMA) performs customer focused operational analysis, simulation, mission planning and architecture development activities within Raytheon, an RTX company. Supporting this mission are teams driving flexible integrated solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate system level studies and visualization based on customer requirements.
Raytheon's Operations Modeling & Analysis (Southwest) is currently seeking a Weapons Mission Planning Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer. Join this highly visible team and perform highly technical assignments, directly contributing to protecting our nation and our warfighters. The Mission Planning Section's goals are to assist in developing a system Concept of Operation for the entire process from mission planning to weapon employment; to support, drive, and enable key business captures/current programs; execute special projects, and drive corporation-wide business opportunities. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Responsibilities to Anticipate
- You will join a team of engineers and analysts to realize Mission Planning team objectives:
- Become the "go-to" source for mission planning expertise
- Develop common mission planning solutions across programs, Captures and IRADs
- Grow a mission planning cadre with varied experience and skills
- Develop team expertise in mission planning methods, software development, and tools
- Coordinate with other IPTs, Program Chief Engineer, and Program Management
- Develop capability delivery plans and lead team execution in an agile framework
- Engage directly in mission planning application software development and test
- You will provide guidance, direction, mentoring and influencing skills, and foster teamwork, interdependent execution, and growth for earlier in career Engineers.
- Some travel will be required - anticipated 10% domestic, more frequent between various sites in Tucson.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following technical domains:
- Mission Planning
- Software architecture, design, development, integration, and/or verification
- Common Weapon Component experience: Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS), Next-gen Open Mission Systems (NOMS)/Next-gen Navy Mission Planning Systems (NGNMPS)/JMPS Open Mission Systems (JOMS), Precision Guided Munitions Planning Software (PGMPS), Common Unique Planning Component (CUPC), Launch Acceptability Region Black Boxes (LARBBs), Fly Out Models (FOMs), Common Auto-Router Baseline (CARB), and/or any aircraft unique planning component (UPC).
- Microsoft Visual C++ and/or C# experience
- Dynamic Link Library (DLL) development experience
- Experience in one or more of the following skill areas:
- System performance, CONOPS
- Algorithms and signal processing
- Aerodynamics, Launch Acceptability Regions, and/or Modeling and simulation (i.e., 6-DOF)
- Aircraft integration and store interface (i.e. MIL STD 1553 and 1760)
- Experience with the software development life cycle
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain special program access after start.
Qualifications We Value
- Advanced Degree in STEM (and can be considered as additional years of experience)
- Top Secret clearance
- Experience in Military CONOPs, weapons planning, weapons employment
- Experience with Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) or Next-gen Open Mission Systems (NOMS)
