Job Description
Work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to understand functional requirements and implement appropriate control solutions. Define controls and diagnostics subsystem level requirements that: ensure compliance to safety requirements, ensure compliance with government regulations and GM-internal policies, meet higher level physics based requirements, enable efficient implementation in and embedded controller and address lessons learned. Ensure subsystem level test requirements and the verification of the controls and diagnostic design. Optimize controls design through modeling, simulation, data collection, and analysis. Develop controls-oriented model including selecting the appropriate method to control and/or diagnose a given feature and considering system characteristics and constraints with input from cross functional team. Define calibration strategies and promote model-based practices in algorithm strategies and calibrations. Support resolution of vehicle, plant, or customer issues related to controls and calibration. Create tools, libraries, and training material to enable capability growth and support learning of the team. Mentor new employees to help increase capabilities and share knowledge. Adhere to all safety precautions and requirements, treating safety as the top priority during all work activities Work with partners in multiple organizations to ensure features and systems are delivered with quality and timeliness. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-Office, 2 Days Remote - Must be able to report to local office

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and two (2) years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Development Engineer, Product Engineer, or related role. Two (2) years of experience with the following: Safety Critical Design; Simulink, MATLAB, DOORs or GIT environments; Plant modeling or data analysis tools; Major automotive subsystems; Design, implementation and testing of embedded Controls; Software-in-Loop, Model-in-Loop or Hardware-in-Loop Simulation.
One (1) year of experience with the following: Programming using C.
