Our Owego, NY site supports a wide variety of programs across military and defense aviation, ground systems, and integrated mission systems. The Work

As a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping lab environments that support software and hardware development for military platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

Designing one-line diagrams, system-level electrical schematics, and cable harness assembly drawings based on military aircraft and ground system requirements.

Supporting lab design, including equipment layout, mechanical rack assembly, integration, and test support.

Performing continuity and compliance testing on cable harnesses and rack-level builds.

Creating bills of material (BOMs) and documentation for lab and system configurations.

Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure that hardware and electrical integration align with program requirements and performance goals.

This position requires a DoD government clearance at the Secret level.

Who You Are

You are a systems-focused electrical engineer with a strong foundation in hardware integration and lab development. You thrive in hands-on environments and enjoy seeing your designs come to life. You're comfortable navigating complex systems and collaborating across engineering disciplines.

Specifically, you have:

A Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience designing electrical schematics and working with cable harness assemblies.

Familiarity with lab test equipment and integration processes.

Strong understanding of configuration control and documentation best practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
Experience updating and/or using One-line Diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics and cable harness drawings.
Experience using Zuken E3, AutoCAD, EPDM and Jira
Experience working with engineering change documentation.
Experience using DVM, O-Scopes and other lab type equipment.
Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD government clearance Secret level

Desired skills

Working Knowledge of Cameo Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tool
Working knowledge of Analog and Digital Circuits, design, and analysis.
Demonstrated ability to act independently.
Shown problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written/verbal skills.
Able to work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative team environment.
Knowledge of using Earned value management/work package management

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
