RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City, UT that is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Python and experience working with modern web frameworks and tools. This role involves enhancing REST APIs, working with databases, and contributing to both backend and frontend development.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain backend services using Python (Django or Flask experience is a plus)
* Enhance and maintain RESTful APIs
* Work with PostgreSQL and other relational databases
* Collaborate with frontend developers using React and JavaScript
* Utilize Linux-based environments and containerization tools like Docker
* Write and maintain shell scripts for automation and deployment tasks
* Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
* Proficiency in Python; familiarity with Django or Flask is a plus
* Understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
* Experience with REST API development and enhancement
* Familiarity with React and JavaScript for frontend development
* Working knowledge of Linux, Docker, and Shell Scripting
* Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working in agile development environments
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team setting
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
