Role- Manufacturing Engineer
Location- Peoria, IL

Duration: Long Term

Keyskills: Six sigma, Lean, Heavy machinery background, PowerBI, Visio, MS access, Basic with MS 365

Summary:

  • As a Manufacturing Engineer you will function as a specialist within the Peoria Proving Ground ecosystem.
  • Work assignments may be specialized in nature but may also be broad based with coordination between other staff personnel to complete projects.

Typical task breakdown:

  • Perform Safety Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (SFMEA) for existing and new shop processes.
  • Develop detailed work instructions for existing and improved shop processes.
  • Train new experimental mechanics and develops training programs to ensure functional expertise is achieved.
  • Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues including ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.
  • Work with operations leaders and machine engineers to develop and manage projects that ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes are in place to produce quality service for machine product groups.
  • Provide manufacturing technical support in process control and safety.
  • Coordinate the purchase and application of machine tools, controls and related equipment corporate wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and safety of operations.
  • Design complex or intricate jigs and fixtures.
  • Adheres to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, ergonomics, etc. in performing assigned duties.

Education & Experience Required:

  • Minimum bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university in Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical engineering or another technical or engineering discipline. 8 or more years related experience required.

Technical Skills:

(Required)

  • Computer skills: MS365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.)

(Desired)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.
  • Previous experience evaluating processes and technical solutions.
  • Computer skills: PowerBi, PowerAutomate, Visio, MS Access
