Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support PMA-208 (Aerial Targets group) at NAVAIR located a NAS Patuxent River, Md. The candidate will be able to perform engineering duties in designing, constructing, and testing aircraft, and missiles. May conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture. To include Subsonic: BQM-177, BQM-167 and BQM-34, Supersonic: AQM-88 and GQM-163 and TMSS: FAST (full scale aerial targets), Moving Land Targets, Target Threat Simulations, etc. May recommend improvements in testing equipment and techniques.

Duties will include:
  • Assist with preparation of Technical reviews, Deficiency Reviews, System Verifications reviews and others as necessary
  • Support development and review of technical requirements for test planning and reporting efforts.
  • Assist in tracking target requirements across all of the weapons portfolios with the goal of ensuring each program has accurate target requests, and ultimately gets the targets that they need (or a substitute is identified).
  • Support generating and producing presentation and briefing materials to support program or project requirements.
  • Support program management in the form of planning, scheduling, and reporting in support of assigned projects in accordance with DoD acquisition program management and T&E instructions and guidebooks.
  • The contractor shall support all aspects of developing the overall test strategy and products required to plan, execute and report on test programs and projects.
  • Identify and support appropriate types and depth of testing required for the active phase of the comprehensive aircraft or weapon systems projects.
  • Support test planning, conducting and reporting on projects as assigned. Contractor shall develop test plans, deficiency reports and Report of Test Results, to include maintenance of the project notebook (test procedures, plans, flight cards, daily reports, etc.). Contractor shall Identify data parameters, instrumentation requirements, perform analysis, and conduct system evaluation.
  • Support the technical studies and analyses for advanced testing philosophies, to include providing recommendations on specific approaches, test facilities requirements, and equipment or system requirements.
  • Ability to perform all functional duties independently

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field required and cannot be substituted.
  • The candidate will have 6-10 years of experience. A Master's Degree may be substituted for 2 years of work experience.
  • Clearance level must be TS and SCI eligible
  • Previous T & E experience preferred
  • Previous experience supporting DoD acquisition program management preferred

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
