RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Houston, TX that is seeking a GIS Specialist responsible for maintaining and reporting pipeline asset data using ArcGIS Pro, SQL Developer for Oracle, and FME Server. This role involves researching, updating, and modifying pipeline specifications, features, and facilities within the Enterprise GIS System to ensure accuracy, compliance, and data integrity.
Responsibilities:
* GIS Specialist will update and maintain the Corporate GIS Database with as-built records, compliance data, and ad-hoc reports/maps for various departments
* Use ArcGIS to create/edit linear and stationing route events, reconcile/post versioned data edits, and generate alignment sheets for quality control
* Interpret and utilize technical drawings, schematics, alignment sheets, and meter station details
* Assist in assessing transmission and gathering lines, reroute quality control, and as-built documentation
* As a GIS Specialist, you will conduct research on pipeline history, including material lists, completion reports, work authorizations, hydro/mill tests, and management of change records
* Retrieve and analyze archived pipeline documentation through project records, field research, and collaboration with project managers
* Work closely with project and operations managers, internal teams, and external stakeholders
* Train operations personnel on GIS applications and reporting tools
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in GIS or equivalent experience
* 5+ years of experience with ArcGIS, preferably within pipeline systems
* Experience with GIS database management, including editing and maintaining spatial data
* Strong understanding of spatial data management and GIS principles
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
* Proficiency in using ArcGIS for creating and editing linear and stationing route events
* Strong research and analytical skills for reviewing pipeline history and documentation
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and alignment sheets
* Ability to effectively communicate GIS/spatial information to non-GIS personnel
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, SQL, and Portal for ArcGIS
* Knowledge of Python/Model Builder for GIS automation
* Development experience with Web App Builder and Experience Builder for Portal for ArcGIS
* Familiarity with CFR 192 and 195 regulations, including Class Location, High Consequence Areas (HCA), and Moderate Consequence Areas (MCA)
* Ability to convey GIS/spatial concepts in written, oral, or cartographic forms to non-GIS personnel
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
