Role: Wireless Access Point Technician
Employment Type: 6 months contract to hire

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Wireless Access Points (WAP) Technician to support the replacement, installation, and maintenance of wireless access point systems across the campus. This role requires hands-on technical expertise in WAP deployment, experience working with UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems, and the flexibility to work outside standard business hours as needed to minimize disruption to operations.
The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience in network installation and maintenance, with a strong understanding of wireless networking technologies and campus-scale deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation and replacement of wireless access points across campus facilities.
- Configure and optimize WAP devices to ensure seamless wireless connectivity.
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal WAP placement and performance.
- Work with UPS systems to ensure proper power support for network equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware or connectivity issues quickly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and network configurations.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to support large-scale network initiatives.
- Occasionally work outside of regular business hours to complete upgrades and minimize operational downtime.
- 3-4 years of experience with wireless access point installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Strong technical skills in wireless networking hardware and protocols.
- Hands-on experience with UPS systems for network equipment support.
- Ability to conduct thorough site assessments and follow structured installation procedures.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to adjust to evening or weekend work when necessary.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Experience with enterprise-grade wireless solutions (Cisco, Aruba, etc.).
- Knowledge of campus or large-scale network deployment environments.
- Relevant certifications such as CWNA, CCNA Wireless, or equivalent.
