Own Your Future. Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Tactical Network Engineer Manager Group 2 - Sr. Principal in Dayton, OH.

The Tactical Network Engineer will support PEO C3BM - ABMS - Advanced Battle Management Systems customer at WPAFB, OH. The customer Program Office provides planning and acquisition of cost-effective, long-term critical U.S. Air Force capabilities in an Integrated Product Team structure. The candidate will work side by side with customers and other contractors in the Program Office. Working with the customer, the candidate will also interface with major defense contractors who supply critical defense capabilities. The majority of the work will be performed in the customer workspace. Some travel is expected (up to 20%).

Responsibilities

Duties to be independently executed include but are not limited to:
Primary duties are to serve as tactical network Engineer guiding the implementation of robust communication network architectures using commercial and military systems.
Provide technical support in one or more of a wide range of RF technologies to include terrestrial and space-based RF communications, government, and commercial satellite systems, commercial cellular and wireless, and understanding of 5G technologies and embedded software/firmware development.
Provide subject matter expertise support to technical reviews and serve on high level reviews and provide critical support to Capability Release Team.
Support program office in evaluating development, integration, modernization, and sustainment initiatives across the portfolio.
Evaluates contractor and other government entity technical proposals, develops, and analyzes technical, engineering and test/verification plans, and represents their organization across government and industry communities.
Design secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure to support real-time communications and data transfer.
Define plan for Implementation and oversight of network configurations, hardware installations, and upgrades.
Identify management tools for network performance, troubleshooting to ensure high availability and reliability.
Collaborate with IT and operational teams to integrate network solutions with various systems, including sensors, communication systems, and external databases.
Ensure seamless interoperability between different tactical systems.
Advise on the optimization of network performance to support mission-critical operations.
Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and make recommendations for corrective actions
Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
Support review and evaluation of weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports.
Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
Gather and develop technical and business data necessary to build and, as required, present program briefs.
Support source selections in a technical advisory role as requested.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 14 years of relevant DoD tactical networks and datalinks experience.
Experience with aircraft communication systems.
Be familiar with the DoD acquisitions process.
Familiarization with different tactical Datalinks and aircraft communication systems
Knowledge of numerous methods of communication/data transmission (ex...Link 16, SADL, MADL, IFDL, TTNT, lasercom, or other various BLOS, LOS and DLOS)
Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network systems.
Expertise in network design, implementation, and management within tactical environments ((LOS, DLOS, BLOS, MOUS ect...).
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software. Some examples may include TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, SNMP, VoIP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, IPSEC, SSL, VPN and or any others.
Strong understanding of network architecture principles, including routing, switching, and wireless communications.
Strong background in cybersecurity principles and practices, particularly as they apply to military networks.
Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools.
Proficiency in network security tools and protocols.

Familiarity with military communication systems, DoD standards and regulations.

Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in:
Experience in military or defense-related network management and architecture is highly desirable.
CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), TOGAF (Open Group Architecture Framework) or CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional) or other equivalent certifications.
DoD, USAF, and interagency information assurance requirements
Familiarization of current applicable SAP and SCI information assurance requirements (JSIG, RMF, JAFAN, etc)

Education Requirements:
B.S. degree in an engineering or technical discipline. (Required)
Master's degree in engineering or technical discipline. (Desired)

Security Clearance Level Required: Top Secret, SCI Eligible
