Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. In this long-term contract role, you will focus on creating clear and comprehensive documentation for Java-based applications and other technical systems, while supporting initiatives such as AI integration. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex technical information into user-friendly formats.

Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain formal technical documentation for various applications and systems.
Extract relevant information from Java-based code to create accurate and detailed documentation.
Document security groups and roles to ensure proper system understanding and compliance.
Contribute to AI integration efforts by preparing structured knowledge documents for intelligent search and Q& A tools.
Utilize Help Manual software as needed to streamline the documentation process and reduce ramp-up time.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather technical information and ensure documentation accuracy.
Continuously improve and update documentation to reflect system changes and user feedback.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in technical writing roles across multiple industries.
Proficiency in understanding and extracting details from Java code.
Strong ability to create structured and user-friendly documentation.
Familiarity with documenting systems for AI training or intelligent tools (preferred).
Mid-level experience with technical writing, with a focus on clarity and precision.
Knowledge of Help Manual software is a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.
